For a period of time in the 1940's, football matches were not permitted to end until a team scored at least one goal. This rule resulted in the longest game in football's history. Bolton Wanderers v Liverpool lastest 4 days, 13 hours and 24 minutes. It resulted in the death of 3 players and the permanent mental instability of everyone on the pitch.

Space Station

In 2035 the International Space Station will be retired. It will be broken up into small pieces and shipped back to Earth. Once all of the pieces have arrived, it will be reassembled and put in a theme park called "Space Station Fun". Tickets are expected to cost a lot, given that it's really small and uninteresting because it's no longer in space.
